简介：该物种隶属于距孢环柄菇组sect. Stenosporae，属于栗色环柄菇复合群，和栗色环柄菇共享很多的特征：担子果小型；菌盖白色，密被棕褐色小鳞片；菌褶白色，离生；菌环容易破碎；菌柄下部被棕色鳞片；担孢子基部有明显延伸的距；褶缘囊状体腹鼓状。
欧洲的标本菌盖一般为火红色，但我国的样本并没有如此标志性的特征，加之其分类学上的争议（见下文），本物种的真实性存疑。
它和栗色环柄菇的区别是其菌盖表面鳞片末端细胞向上变窄，顶部较窄。

分类学

该物种最早被Migliozii & Zecchin 1997从栗色环柄菇复合群中识别为一个单独的物种（Vellinga 2001，P. Sysouphanthong et al. 2011），但由于其形态学上和栗色环柄菇差异比较微小，加上栗色环柄菇的个体形态变化大，两者之间的特征呈现过渡状，Vellinga 2001将其处理为广义的栗色环柄菇。
基于系统学研究，火色环柄菇和栗色环柄菇是两个独立物种，且火色环柄菇和L. subalba为姊妹群，其次与栗色环柄菇、L. alopochroa等复合群内其他物种关系最近（Vellinga 2003，P. Sysouphanthong et al. 2011）。L. subalba整体颜色比火色环柄菇显著偏白，菌盖末端细胞更短，且火色环柄菇的子实体相比之下更纤细（Oleh Prylutskyi et al. 2021，P. Sysouphanthong et al. 2011）。不过，乌克兰有报道系统学上介于两者之间（更接近L. subalba），菌盖为白色中部略带褐色的物种，模糊了这两者之间的区别（Oleh Prylutskyi et al. 2021）。

相似物种

该种酷似原描述于南美的L. pseudoignicolor，但后者具有较大和粗壮的担子果。
